Thank god I am done racing nationals at Mt Snow. The past 2 years Vermont has been anything but good to me. Last year was just bad but this year I had awesome form but no results. I had a flat in the XC and mechanical in the STXC.
It's crazy how hard we train and how much time we spend away from home for racing when sometimes we might as well have just stayed home, sat on the couch and ate doughnuts and the results would have been the same.
O.K., enough Treboohooing. Got a big race coming up this weekend in Canada, the form is good and the motivation is high. I need to show my bike some love this week so it will start treating me right. I think it get's ill tempered in humidity. Maybe I'll bring it in the house instead of leaving it in the garage. Maybe even a night in the AC will bring it back into my favor. Who knows.
Congradulations to Danny Pate for an incredible ride today. I haven't spent a ton of time with him but I have done some training with him in Tucson and riden on a few composite teams with him. You might remember back in the day when he almost switched from the road to the mountain bike when he did a full season racing on the dirt for Tomac. It was awesome to see him up there hanging with the World's best climbers in the Tour and almost winning the stage. I remember when we were walking accross the US/Mexican border in Nogales to eat Carl's Jr.
I wonder if Winston is wearing his black Garmin/Chipolte jersey right now....
