The short track and super D didn't go quite as well, 4th in the stxc and 3rd in the super d. This year they are making the STXC super short so we only raced for 16 minutes. I didn't have a great start and by the time I made my way to the front Treeboohoo and Sid were gone. I tried to jump across but couldn't quite make the connection with out slowing down and toeing everyone up with me. I was hoping someone else would bring us across but all of a sudden it was 1 lap to go and that was the race.
The Super D was different, I've never done a bike race where you start with out your bike and are required to have one hand touching the ground. It was cool though and lucky for me there was a good climb towards the end of the course with some passing so I could move up.
Other then the wind, the weather was great with temperatures in the mid 80s on Sunday and no clouds. Saturday the Santa Anas were blowing and some mechanics were wearing goggles to keep the dirt out of their eyes.
Winston made a new friend, Ruby. Ruby is Ty's dog and Winston thinks it's his new girlfriend. Winston stayed home on Saturday since Meg had to feed a bunch of people in the mens race and Lene in the women's race. Lene killed it with a win also in the XC even after ejecting on the DH. Sondre had good race also after starting on the last row and making his way up through the dust storm of the field.
Meg and I are in Sedona right now and heading back to Durango tomorrow. It's suppose to snow Thursday and Friday but clear up until I leave for Continental Championships next week. Snoodle suggested I ride a MTB loop out by Bell Rock before I leave tomorrow so I think I'm going to get my first MTB ride in Sedona tomorrow.
I wonder if our cat, Maddy is still alive.....
