The month of June has been incredible here in the Four Corners. It hasn't been cloudy for one day and the temperatures have been between 70 and 90 during the day, cool at night.
This is the one piece of shade on the entire Aztec loop ride down into NM. It's the bridge to the La Plata mine.
This is the section of the ride that is also used in the Road Apple Rally MTB race that has been going for over 30 years.
Okay, so most people don't like the Aztec scenery but it is something different and it's always hot down there. I have also been getting into the high country quite a bit. Kenebec pass road is always a nice climb.
The Cascade/Engineer trail is getting pretty good. There's still some snow and downed trees at the top but the bottom is awesome.
Jim and Iri with Brake Through Media and Wil were in town doing some filming and pictures. We spent a lot of time at some places in town I've never been. Here is one from the mechanics shop at the train station. That was all before Jim decided to pull the eject button in Overend Mt Park and separate his shoulder.
Let's see, what other pictures do I have. Here is one from Hillcrest this afternoon. They just had the Navajo tournament there this weekend so the greens are rolling fast right now...
If you notice, most of these pictures don't have a cloud in the sky. Like I said, June has been great.
Tomorrow I'm off to WI for the next round of the PRO XCT. I don't know what to expect since I've been doing a lot of training lately and not too much intensity since I've been pretty tired. Last year it went pretty well though so I'm hoping for the same this year. Looks like I'm going to see my first rain since I left Germany too. I'm looking forward to a mud race since we haven't had one since what seems like Bromont how ever many years ago that was.
I wonder what the Darts' doing right now.....
